The Wheel of the Year is an annual cycle of seasonal festivals that anciant pagans observed in the past. The festivals, also called as Sabbaths, are consisted of the year's chief solar events (solstices and equinoxes) and the midpoints between them. In other words, the Wheel of the Year is like a calendar to those civilizations.
Nowadays, modern pagans keep on celebrating the Wheel, even though is not literal anymore. The Wheel of the Year is full of interesting facts about what we know from society habits and creeds. There are many aspects of the Christian culture that were adapated from old Pagan celebrations and symbols. Knowing this story means, in a way, to get in touch with the beginning of some aspects of our 'everything'.
Here you are going to find the eight drawings, and they all tell a story. It's much deeper than what's is written, but I will summarize so you can enjoy the trip :).
